At the GGI Corporate Governance & Compliance SIG meeting (at the GGI North American Regional Conference) in Washington, DC, we presented the duties of a breached party:
SIG member Jean Sébastien Lebrun (Ravinsky, Ryan, Lemoine LLP, Montréal, Canada) presented the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Document Act (PIPEDA) which covers how Canadian businesses manage personal information, and sets the ground rules for how private sector organisations collect, use, and disclose personal information in the course of for-profit, commercial activities across Canada.
A state-by-state analysis, further recommendations, and PIPEDA are posted within the internal area of the GGI website (login > GGI events > past events > locate the SIG meeting > downloads).
