Welcome to the July 2025 edition of the GGI FYI Best Practices News, produced by our Best Practices for Professional Service Organisations (Best Practices) Practice Group (PG). The mission of this PG is to create a forum where GGI members can share their best practices with one another. This edition shows the breadth and scope of the GGI members’ knowledge and their desire to share, with contributions from lawyers, accountants and consultants.
In our lead article, Christine Hollinden (Hollinden | inbound + strategists, USA) explains how GGI members can use AI to streamline workflows. While our members can benefit from collaborating with consultants, she advises that we should start small but think big when it comes to using AI.
In the second Article, Raf Uzar (Penteris, Poland) gives excellent guidance on communication blunders that we should avoid when communicating with your co-workers. Raf advises keeping our commutations short, listening to feedback or risk losing credibility as leaders.
Prof Sergio Guerrero Rosas (Guerrero y Santana, S.C., Mexico) has authored an article that anyone who wants to do business in Latin America should read. Among other things, he points out that while personal relationships and face-to-face meetings should be part of your approach – and that strategic partnerships (like the ones you cultivate within GGI!) are more important than ever in the region.
T. J. Wallace (Hyde Park Capital Advisors, LLC, USA) shares his insights on how business advisors should be preparing and leading their founder-led, private business to a successful sale of the business. Working with experienced M&A advisors and providing realistic assessments to the founders are key elements of any successful approach.
Continuing with the M&A theme, Melinda Susanto (Protemus Capital, Indonesia) educates us about how to achieve more sell-side success by approaching M&A with buyer-centric thinking. While she has several excellent suggestions, profiling the ideal buyer and anticipating the buyer’s questions resonated with me.
Last but not least, Global Vice Chair for the Best Practices PG Ioana Hategan (Hategan Attorneys, Romania) talks about the future of professional services, how AI will impact what we do and how professional service providers need to think more like business people. She explains that it is one of the reasons she decided to get her Executive MBA. We will all be more successful if we follow Ioana’s lead in striving to constantly learn and improve.
