Steve McCrindle
I have pleasure in presenting our Spring 2023 Indirect Taxes FYI Newsletter.
Our lead article, by Carlos Frühbeck, concerns the introduction of a Plastic Packing Tax in Spain. The UK has had such a tax since 01 April 2022 and I found it interesting to compare the Spanish versus UK versions of this tax. I believe this tax will be introduced in most European jurisdictions and wider in the next few years, and therefore recommend that you discover through this article what it’s all about.
Carlos’ article also sets the tone of this edition of the newsletter, as we have an eclectic mix of subjects covered including Andorra’s Customs Union with the EU (and other agreements), Indirect Taxes and ESG, an EAEU common system of VAT, and the new French VAT grouping regime, amongst others. Remarkably, only one article is dedicated to e-commerce – we had been on a long run of articles on e-commerce previously.
All eleven articles are really good reading and I trust you enjoy them.
Whilst I have your attention, we are happy to receive notification from anyone wishing to draft an article for our Autumn 2023 Indirect Taxes FYI Newsletter. Please just ping me or Barbara Reiss an e-mail suggesting an article topic. We are happy to receive any and all suggestions.
Kind regards,
