Dr Karl Friedrich Dumoulin
Thanks to the ongoing and fantastic support from our GGI Practice Group members, the FYI Newsletter remains a reliable constant in these times of constant changes
Ahead of the upcoming European Regional Conference in Marbella I am delighted to be able to present to you a highly interesting overview on current developments of the law throughout the world as mirrored in eight articles.
I warmly recommend all of them to you.
This issue’s lead article “Remedies to compensate for damages caused by social unrest” is written by Pierre Yves Rossignol from our member firm Herald (France). This is followed by “5 Tips for multi-country litigation” by Nico van der Peet from our member Thuis Partner (The Netherlands), the article on “Evolving legal standards to combat disqualification of arbitrators” by Leslie A. Berkoff from our member Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP (USA) and an overview on “Solving Corporate Transaction Issues by Exercising Litigation” by Freddy Karyadi from our member firm Protemus Capital (Indonesia).
The colourful array of interesting contributions is continued by a report on “The reform of the Italian Legislative Decree 28/2010: Key changes effective 25 January 2025” by Ilaria Ballabeni from Baldi & Partners (Italy), an insight on “Disputes over Swiss franc mortgages” by Bartosz Jankowski from Penteris (Poland) and the article “Farewell to the courtroom? “Out-of-court assisted negotiation” is changing family law in Italy” by Maria Lucrecia Cucchiaro & Silvia Giannini from Kairós (Italy).
This issue of our FYI Newsletter is concluded by a report on “When justice takes time to arrive – claim for compensation from the State for slow judicial proceedings in Spain” by Miguel Ángel Romero from Ruiz Ballesteros (Spain).
Our GGI FYI News once again feature articles both on procedural and substantive law as well as overviews of selected aspects of litigation in our member’s jurisdictions. I am sure it contains an article also of relevance to your daily practice.
A great thanks to so many members who have again contributed to this issue to the FYI Newsletter, produced by our Practice Group – in addition to their day-to-day business.
I invite all of you to make ample use of this Newsletter as an excellent opportunity to enhance your business and send us your articles.
I look forward to meeting you at our next Practice Group Meeting during the GGI European Regional Conference in Marbella, Spain (08 - 11 May 2025).
With best wishes and kind regards,
