Not long to go now until our upcoming GGI European Regional Conference, and we're pleased to inform you that we already have close to 220 registrations to date. It's going to be a terrific event and we can't wait to see you all again.
Our confirmed keynote speakers are Indrek Tarand and Dr Olena Makeieva.
The Practice Group Chairs have been busy organising their sessions. In case you would like to share your expertise and experience, this would be the perfect opportunity. Make sure you reach out to book your slot.
Don't forget that there are also several optional excursions planned, where you will be able to not only see more of this beautiful country but also to network in a more informal setting with your fellow GGI colleagues.
On Wednesday afternoon, 10 May, there will be a visit to the Keukenhof. Keukenhof is known to be the most beautiful spring garden in the world, and its history dates back to the 15th century. Here you will see 7 million spring-flowering bulbs, alongside sculptures and other works of art from 25 different artists. It's a must-see attraction if you're in the Netherlands in the spring.
Amsterdam is famous for its canals and many waterways. Experience a scavenger hunt by boat on Thursday morning, 11 May. You will be split into teams, each team equipped with an iPad and an electric boat to complete assignments at GPS hotspots located on the iPad. This is a relaxed and unique way to explore the city, while networking.
On both Thursday afternoon and Saturday afternoon, why not explore Amsterdam on an e-bike? The e-Fatbikes are easy to ride and help you cover a lot of ground during a short period of time. Together with a guide, this is a perfect way to explore the city.
Additionally, on Saturday afternoon, you'll have the opportunity to either go on a culinary walking tour – getting to know Amsterdam through its flavours – or to visit the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam's most famous museum.
If you haven't signed up and would like to do so, please contact Anita Szoeke with your request(s).
Finally, of course, this is the perfect opportunity to catch up with one of our host firms – de Jong & Laan, JAN© Accountants and Business Consultants, LIMES international, Schipper Groep, and of course TeekensKarstens advocaten notarissen – while you are in their country! Make an appointment to visit their offices and meet their wider teams.
Registration is open. GGI members may register for the event by logging into the internal area of our website (ggi.com) > Upcoming Events > locate the event > click on the external link.
With more than 100 registered for this event, we're going to have a very Californian conference thanks to the pre-planning assistance provided by our host firms, Ervin Cohen & Jessup LLP and Prager Metis International, including (Nagano Morita LLP, a Division of Prager Metis CPAs). We're talking a fabulous Friday evening dinner at the hands of two award-winning chefs and, instead of the usual black tie closing gala dinner, one where you can sink your toes into the warm silky sand of a Californian beach.
Randy Leff, GGI ExCom member and Managing Partner at Ervin Cohen & Jessup, might even have one of his very warm and welcoming hugs for you.
The Practice Groups are still taking shape, so there are still plenty of opportunities for you to offer to take part. Please contact the Practice Group Chairs if you'd like to avail of this.
The Business Development & Marketing (BDM) Practice Group will have guest speaker Jonathan Fitzgarrald from Equinox Strategy Partners (and previous keynote speaker at several GGI events in the past) for taking your business development efforts to the next level in 2023. Hilary Bricken (Harris Bricken, Seattle, WA, USA) will be presenting on the topic of cannabis at the Corporate & Tech Practice Group. Jeffrey A. Ford (Grossman, Yanak & Ford LLP, Pittsburgh, PA, USA) will lead the Auditing, Reporting & Compliance (ARC) Practice Group in a discussion on audit outsourcing. For the Corporate Governance & Compliance Special Interest Group, Jonathan B. Wilson (Taylor English Duma LLP, Atlanta, GA, USA) will provide a more detailed presentation as a follow-on to his presentation in Montréal last October on the Corporate Transparency Act.
If you would like to hold a workshop, there are still slots available. Contact Linda Soriton asap with your suggestion.
