Introducing a new Special Interest Group: Highlighting the Women of GGI
GGI encourages and fosters quality multi-disciplinary working relationships which transcend geographic boundaries.
Highlighting the Women of GGI encourages greater involvement of those GGI members self-identifying as women, with a focus on their workplace and growth-opportunity experiences and concerns.
The Women of GGI initiative has been started jointly by Elisabeth Colson (Partner with Devry Smith Frank LLP, Canada), Amy Seneshen, (Managing Partner at Welborn Sullivan Meck & Tooley, P.C., USA), and Leslie A. Berkoff (Partner with Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP, USA).
As the three women partners were not in Amsterdam to kick off the inaugural meeting of the Special Interest Group, Pietia Laarhoven-van der Mark (Partner with TeekensKarstens advocaten notarissen, The Netherlands) stepped in to run the session with an interactive panel luncheon which took place just prior to the start of the GGI European Regional Conference in May.
Another successful women luncheon followed at the GGI North American Regional Conference in Beverly Hills. The idea for holding the luncheons prior to the start of the event was to ensure that the women connected before the busy-ness and the business of the conference itself.
It was fabulous to meet like-minded professional women, share our experiences, address attendee questions and continue GGI's legacy of building great relationships.
GGI Expert Groups are institutionalised interest groups, open to all GGI members throughout the different disciplines. Each group starts as a Special Interest Group before it turns into a Practice Group when more matured. All Expert Groups are established as the initiatives of active GGI members. Being involved in these groups allows GGI members to stay at the forefront of their professions. The vital exchange with like-minded professionals from all around the world keeps all participants updated and informed. Expert Groups provide a superb platform for intense and focused networking.
