GGI Conference Review
GGI Practice Group Global Chairs Meeting
02-04 February 2024 | Zurich, Switzerland
The 2024 GGI Practice Group Global Chairs Meeting took place in Zurich between 02-04 February, welcoming various Leaders of the GGI Practice Groups from around the world.
The meeting started on Friday evening with a welcome dinner at Restaurant Le Dézaley, located in the very heart of Zurich’s old town and well-known for their special fondue. Participants could take this chance to meet each other for the first time this year in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
The Saturday morning featured the main meeting session, starting with an update and overview by Michael Reiss von Filski, Global CEO of GGI, addressing core aspects of the Practice Groups and the challenges faced by the Practice Group Chairs. Each participant had the opportunity to report about the latest activities and future plans for their Practice Groups, including challenges and opportunities. The morning session featured also a review of the Practice Groups’ mission, objectives, structure and development.
The morning meeting continued with a contribution by David Karasek, who is a former Olympic swimmer and an experienced (former) private. David run a session titled “Gap vs Gain for High-Achievers: A Hard-Learned Lesson on Happiness from an Olympic Swimmer”, during which he highlighted how most people – especially ambitious people – are unhappy because of how they measure their progress, and suggested ways to overcome such condition.
The afternoon session featured a walking tour of Zurich Old Town, as well as a Rumtasting session at the Waiana Tiki Bar, offering an outstanding selection of Rums. As a conclusion to this year’s meeting, the Practice Group Global Chairs were invited to an exquisite dinner at the Storchen Hotel.
We look forward to welcoming the GGI Practice Group Global Chairs again to Switzerland next year.
